Village Earth: The Consortium for Sustainable Village-Based Development
In January of 2005, Village Earth was invited to visit with eight different communities in the Amazon River basin of Peru, specifically in the Ucayali region. This area is home to a large percentage of indigenous people living in hundreds of communities along the large river systems or in the interfluvial forest zones. Currently, Village Earth in working with members of the Shipibo-Conibo ethno-linguistic group, located in villages on or near the Ucayali River.

Salsa is not easily defined. Who invented salsa? The Cubans, Puerto Ricans? Salsa is a distillation of many Latin and Afro-Caribbean dances. Each played a large part in its evolution.
